What's the Cost?

As you can see, most safety benefits are FREE for A4DD members.  Plus, members pay a lot less for safety training than commercial vendors charge and gain the same certificates you may need to comply with your contracts and lower your insurance rates.  Our training costs start at just $5.00 and are always less than $10.00.  To pay the least, purchase a course bundle instead of a single course (save at least 20%), and make sure you joined A4DD using your contracting company’s discount code (saves another 10%-25%).  No code?  Ask them to contact A4DD.  Also, members can click here to discover other companies in the area that can give you a discount code. Just add the code to your Member Profile next time you log in.

Is all this really necessary?

Consider the following factors and then make the right decision for you:

  • Weighing risk – Dealing with safety comes down to managing risk, and different people feel differently about taking risks.  Are you concerned about acting ‘penny wise, pound foolish’ and losing all you’ve worked for?  If so, make the small investments to follow best practices, educate yourself, and refresh your training monthly.  Perhaps instead you’re a ‘damn the torpedos’ type.  You want to minimize expenses and maximize cash in your pocket.  Then perhaps stick to what’s required, but remember it’s not just your life you are playing with.
  • Contract requirements – Motor carriers increasingly expect their independent drivers to certify regular safety training and follow best safety practices.  They know that accidents cause damage not only to cargo but also to customer relationships, and they pay more for their own insurance when driver Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) show more accidents and tickets. Those with borderline MVRs or worse may have contracts terminated and struggle to find work. You want to position yourself as a safe driver to gain and keep better-paying jobs and routes.
  • Insurance – The surest way to pay less is to avoid accidents and drivers who make insurance claims see their rates shoot up.  So safety = savings. In addition, A4DD is working on getting concrete insurance discounts for our members who utilize the association’s safety benefits.
  • Cost – No doubt about it, cost is a factor.  Sometimes, in order to get by you have to live without things you know you should have.  However, given the heavily discounted prices of A4DD safety training, and how much we offer members at NO EXTRA CHARGE, you should be able to get what you need to stay safe and be successful.
