Jump-Start Your Business with Associations

Association Logos

Drivers getting started in delivery need to look no farther than industry associations to find opportunity.  While “gig” apps are spending vast sums to publicize themselves, you may find more consistent and lucrative delivery work from established delivery and logistics companies.  The majority of these companies operate regionally or locally, so you can get to know the people you’re working with.  In addition to on-demand work, they offer scheduled and routed options that can keep you busy for hours at a time.  Much of their work may be business-to-business, involving larger loads for more money and fewer annoyances like aggressive pets or difficulty getting signatures.

Advertising Made Easy

How do you connect with these contracting companies?  As a member of the Association for Delivery Drives, you can advertise yourself easily to many carriers that refer drivers to A4DD.  Load up your Ad to get noticed for $2.50 a month for six months, then just $1.00 a month after that.

But don’t stop there.  These companies tell us they need drivers all the time.  If you have equipped yourself with the tools of the trade, training, and insurance available to A4DD members, we encourage you to reach out and introduce yourself.

Use Other Associations

To find quality delivery and logistics companies that are not household names, we recommend visiting the websites of their trade associations.  These websites allow you to search for member companies by location and other factors, such as the kind of vehicle you drive.  You don’t have to be a member and there is no charge.  Once you have contact information and websites for several companies, you can check them out and present yourself as a professional delivery driver seeking work.  Chances are, they will welcome you with open arms.

Here are some Association Websites:

  1. Customized Logistics & Delivery Association
  2. Express Carriers Association
  3. National Home Delivery Association
  4. California Delivery Association
  5. Florida Messenger Association
  6. New York State Messenger Courier Association

You may be able to search out additional associations in your state.  If so, let us know about them.

Good luck!
