Required HIPAA Training

The federal government requires HIPAA training be taken by anyone, drivers included, that has access to Protected Health Information (PHI). This includes drivers who deliver blood, lab samples, pharmacy prescriptions and DMEPOS (durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies).  Should a HIPAA privacy violation occur, penalties and consequences for your contracts can be severe.  Failure to monitor driver compliance may increase your liability.
